Who wears pants?
Pants are one of those long-standing garments whose true story has been lost in the pages of time. The ancient people who lived in the Stone Age wore trousers-like clothing, or at least leg coverings. They strapped furs and hides to their legs to survive the cold temperatures and harsh conditions of the ice age.
But as society began to develop in the Middle East’s warm climate, pants were out of fashion. Most wore short skirts and long gowns, as depicted in the Egyptian images. The first written mention of pants occurred around the 600 BC, when Greek historians wrote about pants.
The Greeks saw that the horsemen of Persia, Central Asia, and the east all wore pants. The Greeks, like the Egyptians and others of Mediterranean culture, wore only robes and skirts. However, for those who travel on horseback, pants make more sense. When the Greeks first saw these pantsuit riders, their styles were so different that historians noticed them and wrote about them.
But the ancient Greeks didn’t travel on horseback. They were completely dismissive of the idea of pants. The Romans agreed, and outfitted their soldiers with skirts instead of the strange-looking clothes that the horsemen preferred. When the Romans later tried to conquer England, they ran into people who wore pants again and again and found it a very strange way to dress. Soon, however, Roman soldiers saw the benefits of wearing trousers in Britain’s humid climate.
It wasn’t until the 13th century that pants really caught on in popular culture, when it was well recognized that they were high-end military attire. The Knights wore tight hoses under their armor. The style of pants evolved from here, and to this day, there are many, many different types of pants. And when you’re looking for something loose and comfortable, there are many types to choose from.

These trousers, also known as Turkish trousers, are very wide, breathable trousers that gather tightly around the ankles. This is still a folk dress in Turkey, there are several very similar changes in pants, they include Tashalava, Charvas, Houssine Kharja, Patiala, Salvador García, Shintigan, Salvador García, Shawari, balloon pants and Zouave.
These pants are usually made of lightweight, breathable fabrics, creating a very breathable design. Aladdin pants are made to float on the legs because of their very loose shape, with tight ankles forming a natural air pocket on the legs. This is a very comfortable, casual style, very easy to wear.
Boyfriend
Boyfriend pants and boyfriend jeans is a woman’s pants style, deliberately made into a man’s pants style. The cut of the pants is loose and square on the frame of the woman, and the straight leg style is straight down from the hips.
Boyfriend pants are a little loose in design because they should look like men’s pants, but on women. However, the style of the pants still fits the female body, not really the male body.
Bush
Bush pants are straight, loose cut, wide-legged trousers with large pockets on both legs. They have very wide leg openings at the end. Wide legs create a cool, comfortable design that is perfect for wearing in warm weather.
Cargo
Cargo pants have large pockets on the thighs for storing tools and equipment. The overalls are loose and slightly baggy, giving the body room to move and manipulate while working. These pants are usually of durable design and sturdy material because they are worn as a popular work pants style.
Carpenter
Carpenters’ trousers are specially made for carpenters. They are a bit loose-fitting and always have a hammerring on the leg. Carpentry pants usually feature knees and extra tool pockets to hold items. They are designed for overalls and are therefore very durable.
However, the loose fit makes these pants stylish and comfortable to wear. They have a nice casual look and are stylish even when you’re not working.
Fatigue
Fatigue pants are military pants, and they are also popular as civilian clothing. They are slightly looser to allow for comfort and ease of movement, and barrel-type ends at the ankles. Fatigue Pants have tool pockets and many additional features that can accommodate a variety of equipment. These trousers are reinforced in certain areas to increase their strength.
Harem
Wide, loose-fitting Harlem trousers were bound at the ankles. Despite the name, it is not a style from the Middle East. However, the design was definitely inspired by similar pants, especially Turkish pants. In 1910, designer Paul Porrett introduced harem pants to European and American fashion as a western reference to eastern pants.
Most notably, harem pants inspired the later Hamer Pants, which became a fashion craze in the 1980s. Sound engineer M. C. Hamme wears these baggy pants with wide hips and thighs and a sharp thinning of the calves and ankles. The low-crotch design suited the popular dance style of the time, the hammer dance, and the pants were hugely popular. Hammer pants later became a retro look.
Jodhpurs
The shorts were made for horseback riding and the modern style of the pants looked completely different from the original design. Today, these pants are very slim, similar to leggings. But when they were first introduced into the fashion world, and in the decades that followed, breeches were loose at the hips and thighs, and tight from the knees to the ankles.
Designed for horseback riding, it is a very popular style and has been widely worn by men and women for decades. Over time, however, Jodhpur’s design was simplified. Today, it’s hard to find shorts that are made in a more traditional look.
Palazzo
Palazzo pants are a women’s style pants, waist fit, and then with two extremely wide legs spread out, the design is loose. The trousers are usually made of lightweight fabric and are worn in spring and summer. Wide legs allow cooling air to circulate, which helps prevent the body from overheating.
For women who don’t want to wear dresses or skirts, palazzo pants are a great choice for business and semi-formal wear to keep their legs cool.
Pantaloons
Trousers are knee-length or longer, they are very loose, lower body binding, binding under the folds of fabric or lace. Pantsuits can be worn as pants alone or as an additional layer under a skirt or another pair of pants.
Sailor / Bell Bottoms
More commonly known as bell-bottoms or bell-leg trousers, the legs roll out over the knees, a design that helps keep pants dry on the deck of a ship. Boots are easy to wear with wide leg openings. Bell bottoms became a very popular look in the 1960s and 1970s, and they are still being worn in fashion.
Sweat
Sweatpants are sweatpants that can be worn before, during or after a workout, but they are also popular as casual wear. Sweatpants are made of soft, breathable material and are designed to be loose, baggy, with drawstring or elastic waistbands that keep in line with the body even if the body size changes
Sweatpants are similar to sweatpants, which are actually just more fitted, more stylized sweatpants.
Tactical
Tactical pants are very similar to cargo pants and have cargo pockets. However, these pants have additional features that can help in a variety of tactical situations. Emergency Workers, SWAT and FBI agents, as well as other law enforcement officials and firefighters wear the pants.
Tactical pants are also worn by civilians and are popular with hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.
Thai Fisherman
Thai fishermen’s trousers are very wide at the waist because they are made in only one size and one style. The excess material is wrapped around the waist and knotted to form a belt. The trousers are usually made of cotton or synthetic fiber and, as you might have guessed, are related to Thai fishermen. They later spread to the Western fashion world, where they became popular as maternity pants and board shorts.
Tobi Trousers
