Cdlp  Ventures In Women’s Products

Her transformation: “Transcending lingerie” is Ingrid Guttormsen’s description of the first women’s products she designed for CDLP.

The stockholm-based maker of“Sustainable luxury necessities” for men will launch its first line of women’s necessities on September 21, an exclusive offering from Net-a-porter, it also has its own electronics store.

“The development of the collection took into account both how the product feels on the skin and how it complements the outer layer,” explains Guttormsen, CDLP’s design director. “While the design is functional, it also has exquisite detail, which creates an interesting connection between the underwear and the outer layer. The structure is strong; the material is soft.

This simple starting line-up includes a thong, underwear, strapless, t-shirt and tank top in black and white. The main fabric used is Tencel, made from renewable wood and highly prized for its softness, breathability and moisture absorption.

Details include herringbone trim, harmonic embossed logo, adjustable two-way shoulder straps and custom silver hardware.

Founded in 2016 by film director and photographer Christian Larson and entrepreneur Andreas Palm, CDLP has so far focused on men’s underwear, t-shirts and socks, and things to wear by the pool, at home, and while playing sports.

The brand, which stands for “UN Cadeau de la Providence”, has investors including Matchesfashion founder Tom Chapman and Swedish-american entrepreneur Infanta Cristina, Duchess of Palma de Mallorca Stein Baker.

“We’re starting to see a natural emergence of female customers,” says Russon, explaining that the fit and silhouette are “Universal”. Therefore, the backward development, for this customer group to develop underwear necessities is an organic and thoughtful progress.
